Liverpool are tracking AZ Alkmaar midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, according to reports in the Italian media.
It is believed the 23-year-old is being targeted as a possible replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is expected to leave Anfield when his contract expires in the summer.
Koopmeiners generally plays in a holding midfield role for AZ, and fans on Twitter think he could well be the ideal fit for what the Reds are looking for:

The Netherlands international’s statistics this season are seriously impressive, having scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in 37 appearances.
However, you have to keep in mind a lot of those are penalties, while he is also excellent from free kicks with an ability to hit the target with his strong left foot.
Although a defensive midfielder by trade, Koopmeiners has also been employed further forward, as well as occasionally playing as a centre-half so, like Wijnaldum, he has plenty of strings to his bow.
