Liverpool and Arsenal hold a “serious interest” in Ajax right-back Devyne Rensch, according to Ajax Showtime reporter Bademba Barrie.
The Dutch journalist says that Ajax are determined to keep hold of the 20-year-old and they will offer the defender a new contract in order to ward off potential suitors:
Devyne #Rensch kan rekenen op serieuze belangstelling vanuit de top van de Premier League. #Ajax wil hem echter niet kwijt en probeert zijn contract open te breken ππΎπ https://t.co/nDoy1qDMwe

Rensch is a first-team regular at Ajax, having made 30 starts in all competitions for the Eredivisie champions, so he wouldn’t want to move to Anfield in order to become Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s understudy.
The Netherlands international would likely be a direct competitor for his place in the starting eleven, and the Ajax star could potentially replace him if he can’t improve his form.
Considering Arsenal are looking for a new first-choice right-back too, Rensch may even snub the Reds if he isn’t given guarantees about his playing time. With the Gunners having Champions League football, it could be a tough sell otherwise.
