Edwards Eyeing ‘One Last Smart Move’ To Sign 42.6M Rated South American Star

Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards is targeting “one last smart move” before he leaves Anfield, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim Edwards has identified Porto winger Luis Diaz as the target, with the Colombian international having been in excellent form so far this season.

Diaz has racked up 13 goals and contributed three assists in only 22 appearances and it is believed that Liverpool have been keeping closes tabs on the player in recent months, along with the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

The Reds are said to be keen on taking advantage of Porto missing out on the Champions League knockout rounds, with the Portuguese side likely needing to make up the financial losses through selling a player.

Reports in Colombia have suggested that Diaz might be available for around €50m (£42.6m), although they also mentioned Chelsea, Everton and Atletico Madrid as other possible suitors, so there may be a lot of the competition for the winger’s signature next month.
