Fabinho Singles Out 45M Summer Signing As He Assesses Arsenal, Chelsea And Spurs’s Transfer Business

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho believes some of the Reds’ rivals have made some “good” additions to their squads over the summer months.

The Brazilian claims the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea have all brought in decent reinforcements, and he singled out the Gunners’ capture of Gabriel Jesus for £45m as one of the most notable signings:

“Tottenham have bought some good players, Arsenal too with Gabriel Jesus going there, Chelsea too.”

Of course, Liverpool haven’t stood still in the transfer market either, with the high-profile addition of Darwin Nunez ,but it will be interesting to see whether these teams can challenge the hegemony of Jurgen Klopp’s side and Manchester City.

Fans and pundits can get carried away with the impact of new signings. You just have to look at the predictions before last season, when Manchester United signed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, to see how people can be led astray.

As Fabinho notes himself, many feel that Spurs have done a lot of good business, with Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic all moving to North London, but we shall see if that is indeed the case.
