Fans vote Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s ‘best ever’ Premier League manager

Liverpool fans have voted Jurgen Klopp as the club’s ‘best ever’ Premier League manager.

The poll, put together by the Liverpool Echo, asked readers to vote for who they considered the Red’s greatest manager of the Premier League era.

Fans were given the choice of the eight manager’s Liverpool have employed since the dawn of the Premier League in 1993 – starting with Graeme Souness and of course ending with current boss Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp joined Liverpool in 2015 from Borussia Dortmund, and has since guided the merseyside outfit to three major finals, including this season’s Champions League final.

Liverpool however, have not come out on top in any of them, meaning Klopp’s reign as Liverpool manager thus far remains trophy-less.

That hasn’t stopped the fans admiration for the animated German however, with them voting him as the club’s greatest ever Premier League boss – ahead of Rafael Benitez, who won the Champions League trophy with Liverpool in 2005, as well as three other major honours during his time at Anfield.

Gerard Houllier – who was Reds’ boss between 1998-2004 – came in third for his efforts. The Frenchman guided Liverpool to a Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup treble in 2001, and also won the League Cup again two seasons later.

Kenny Dalgleish came in fourth, Roy Hodgson fifth and Roy Evans in sixth.]

Brendan Rodgers surprisingly came in seventh, while Graeme Souness took last place for his three years reign between 1991-1994.
