Liverpool have been regularly linked with a move to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio over the past few months.
Although respected journalists have denied the interest, the Spanish media have continued to mention the Reds as a potential suitor, with Manchester United and Arsenal also added into the mix.
Asensio is in the middle of contract negotiations with Real, which may explain the transfer speculation, but he does have just a year remaining on his current deal When fans on Twitter were asked whether Liverpool should sign the 26-year-old, if he is made available for £25m, there was a mixed response:
For 25M? Definitely, he’s experienced and still relatively young.

He is not a Klopp type of player!

I’d take him more to add quality depth which we r severely lacking

He’s beyond overrated … he wants to stay at madrid, they don’t want him. He wouldn’t get nowhere near our first 11.

It is hard to see where Asensio would fit in if he moved to Anfield. He is generally deployed as a right-winger, but he doesn’t possess the pace to be a genuine alternative to Mo Salah. We shall see if these rumours do actually lead to any concrete interest on Liverpool’s part.
