FOUR Liverpool Players Make The PFA Player Of The Year Shortlist

Liverpool foursome Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk have been named on the six-man shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award.

The other two names are Manchester City players, with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling having also been nominated.

In terms of the Young Player of the Year award, Alexander-Arnold is once again on the list, alongside Chelsea pair Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka as well as Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.

The winners of both awards will be announced on the PFA’s social media channels on Tuesday 8th September at 7 pm.

At the moment, Sadio Mane is the surprise favourite at some bookmakers, but that may change between now and next week. Captain Jordan Henderson will be backed by some following his Football Writers Association award, but Kevin De Bruyne will also present stiff competition considering his excellent season for City.
