Four Of Liverpool’s Final Nine Fixtures Set To Be Played At New Venues

The Merseyside derby and Liverpool’s trips to Manchester City and Newcastle are all expected to be moved to neutral grounds to minimise the impact on policing.

The national lead for football policing, Deputy Constable Mark Roberts, says that at least six Premier League games could be moved at the request of local police forces, including the one where the Reds could win the league:

• Manchester City v Liverpool
• Manchester City v Newcastle
• Manchester United v Sheffield United
• Newcastle v Liverpool
• Everton v Liverpool
• The game where Liverpool could win the title

Although the Premier League is set to return on June 17th, final approval from the government is still required so these changes have not been confirmed at this stage.

However, if the season does resume as scheduled,  Liverpool will win the Premier League at a neutral venue.

Considering there are no crowds anyway, it shouldn’t really affect the home teams too much but it does raise concerns about how this title victory will be remembered.

Watford captain Troy Deeney has already said that the “integrity” of the season is “gone” and this decision will add further fuel to the fire.
