FPL: The Highest Scoring Players In Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5

Cody Gakpo celebrates a goal.

With game week five of FPL having now concluded, how is your fantasy football team looking? If you had any of these three players, you were in luck.

Following a week off after an international break, the Premier League resumed in scintillating fashion, with enthralling encounters dominating the weekend.

While this past week hasn’t been the highest scoring game week we have ever seen, there were certainly some standout performers over the ten fixtures.

Today, we’ll be looking at players from club such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, all of whom picked up three points at the weekend.

Andy Robertson

First up is Liverpool’s own Andy Robertson – while he looked shaky during the international break for Scotland, he returned to form in fine style as the Reds defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

While Liverpool struggled in the first half, they turned the tables in the second period. Following Cody Gakpo’s equaliser, Robertson put the Reds ahead late on with a tidy finish.

Robertson failed to pick up a clean sheet bonus against Wolves, but nevertheless, his impressive performance saw him pick up 11 points in total.

Leandro Trossard

Most FPL fans will be dismayed to see Leandro Trossard in one of these lists – not because they hold a personal grudge against the Belgian, but because only 2% of Fantasy Premier League players have him in their team at this point.

Regardless, those 2% will have been ecstatic on Sunday afternoon – Trossard netted a fabulous strike in the second half against Everton, capping off a sumptuous Arsenal move.

Trossard picked up an admirable score of 11 FPL points in game week five of Fantasy Premier League – alongside his goal, he also picked up three bonus points.

Bernardo Silva

Topping the list in game week five is Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, as he accumulated a tally of 13 points over the course of the weekend.

Until the last 15 minutes of the game, Silva was heading for a tally of just two points – he scored a goal and set up another in the game’s final act.

City looked like they were heading for a disappointing result initially, only for Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Silva to get them out of jail.
