French Journalist Says Liverpool’s Move To Sign 51M Rated Ligue One Star Could Be Imminent

Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni could make the switch to Liverpool soon, according to TF1 journalist Gregoire Margotton.

The French reporter used pictures of Tchouameni and Anfield, suggesting one could move to the other very “shortly”:

Whether Margotton has any inside information, we shall have to wait and see. Speculation is building about Tchouameni’s potential move to the Reds but the vast majority of respected journalists in the UK have kept quiet so far.

Monaco are believed to be prepared to let the France international leave for around €60m (£51m) but it had been felt, up until now, that other teams were favourites to sign the player.

Chelsea were leading the race initially before their ownership problems, while Real Madrid were tipped as Tchouameni’s preferred destination very recently. However, the La Liga club aren’t in a position to splash out on the 22-year-old this summer.

It has left Liverpool, along with Manchester United, as the midfielder’s most likely suitors. Whether Margotton is effectively confirming his move to Anfield, it remains to be seen.
