Former Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham defender William Gallas says he is convinced that a London team will win the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool are level on points with Spurs at the top of the table and are in a good position to retain the trophy after a good start to the campaign, but Gallas believes either Tottenham or Chelsea will come out on top this year:

“It’s a London team which will win the Premier League this year. After seeing Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham play, I already know that it won’t be Arsenal who will win the Premier League. I look forward to next weekend to see Chelsea against Tottenham.”

Gallas doesn’t give any rational reason why it has to be a London team, although it could simply be the fact that he has played for both sides and doesn’t want to upset supporters of his former clubs.

In any case, predicting who will win the title nine games into the season is not exactly easy, especially with the packed fixture schedule and so many teams encountering injuries.

The bookies still have Liverpool as the favourites, with Manchester City, Spurs and Chelsea behind them in the betting odds.
