Garth Crooks Names FOUR Liverpool Players In His ‘Team Of The Week’

BBC pundit Garth Crooks has selected four Liverpool stars in his “team of the week” but surprisingly omitted Diogo Jota, despite the Portuguese international bagging a brace against Southampton on Saturday.

Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane all made the eleven but Crooks claimed Jota’s performance was “ordinary” compared to his teammates.

In terms of the rest of the team, Crooks listed two Leicester players in James Maddison and Jamie Vardy following the Foxes’ 4-2 victory against Watford yesterday.

Manchester United’s David De Gea was named in goal, with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger picked in the backline, along with Arsenal fullback Nuno Tavares.

A second Gunners player, Bukayo Saka, was also included in the lineup, after opening the scoring versus Newcastle in the 2-0 victory at the weekend. John McGinn completed Crooks’ team, having scored an excellent goal to help Steven Gerrard secure his second win in a row as Aston Villa boss.
