Gary Neville Changes His Tune As He Revises His PL Top Four Prediction

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has revised his top four prediction as the Premier League heads into the second half of the season.

The former England international is still adamant that Manchester City will win the league, with Chelsea in second, but he now believes Liverpool will finish above Manchester United:

“The top one I am alright with (backing Manchester City to win the PL title). The second one (Chelsea), I think Liverpool, you can swap them with Manchester United. That will be wrong.”

It’s hardly much of a climb down from Neville, and the fact that he still thinks Jurgen Klopp’s side will finish third, and no higher, suggests he is underestimating the Reds.

While they may be trailing City by six points currently, they do have a game in hand against the league leaders, and they have shown themselves to be formidable going forward this campaign.

Of course, the fact that Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will be going away for the African Cup of Nations next month could cause Liverpool some problems in the attacking third of the pitch, but the pair are only expected to miss a maximum of three league games in total.
