Gary Neville Names The Player That Would Would “Excite” Him The Most If He Signed For Liverpool

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville says he would be very excited to see how Liverpool would play if they signed Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich this summer.

The Spanish international is being pursued by the Reds according to multiple reports, and Neville thinks he would be an excellent addition for the Premier League champions if they manage to bring him in before the transfer window closes:

“The one that I think that scarily would excite me the most is Thiago to Liverpool. I think Liverpool need that player. Because the team’s been so good, the coach has been so good it would feel like if they didn’t sign someone at this point, the players in that dressing room would probably want that challenge of a new player coming in.”

It is quite bizarre to hear a former Manchester United defender be so enthusiastic about Liverpool signing a player but, in his role as a pundit, Neville seems to appreciate that Thiago would add an extra dimension to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Certainly, the Reds could do with someone like the Spaniard who has an excellent passing range and, as Neville mentions, it would allow the club to push on this season, by adding another string to their bow and evolve as a team following their title success.
