German Journalist Claims “There Are Already Meetings Scheduled” For Klopp To Meet With £52m Rated Target

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will hold discussions with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner about a possible move to Anfield, according to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk.

Speaking to Passioneinter.com (translated by Sempre Inter), Falk was asked whether Inter Milan were in the running for the German international, and he replied that the Reds are the favourites:

“Werner is not going to Inter, there are already meetings scheduled with Jürgen Klopp. Liverpool is the big favourite to buy him in the summer.”

Werner reportedly has a €60m (£52m) release clause, with some even claiming he is taking English lessons ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.

However, RB Leipzig’s head of football Olivier Mintzlaff has said the German side have not had any contact with Klopp or Liverpool yet.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in Werner but, at this stage, not a lot appears to be happening. There are also a number of question marks over whether the Reds will actually be doing any business in the transfer market considering the financial climate.
