Gerrard Keen On Recruiting Third Liverpool Loanee After Making 21 Year Old Top January Target

Rangers have made Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke their top January transfer target, according to reports in the UK.

Last week, it was reported that Huddersfield Town were the favourites to land the 21-year-old on loan due to the Terriers boss David Wagner’s friendship with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, Gers boss Steven Gerrard already has two players on loan from Liverpool in Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent, while Jon Flanagan also joined on a free transfer from the Merseyside club in the summer.

Gerrard’s connections with the Reds could once again aid his pursuit of Solanke, although much may depend on what Klopp sees as the best choice for the young striker.

In addition to Huddersfield, Wolves, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all keen on the England Under 21 international, and if the forward could get regular game time in the Premier League, it may be preferable than him playing in Scotland for the remainder of the season.
