Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson should be in contention to face Brighton at the Amex this afternoon after returning to full training.
The 30-year-old missed the games against Leicester and Atalanta due to a hamstring problem he picked up on international duty with England but he is now ready to make his comeback.
Henderson’s leadership is seen as a key component of the Reds’ success in recent years and fans on Twitter are delighted to see him return to the squad:
Great to see him back in training. We need him

Can’t be a coincidence he didn’t play against Villa or last night. Our 2 worst performances of the season so far. His importance to our rhythm can’t be overstated. Our captain.

Considering the lack of fit midfielders, Henderson’s return is very timely indeed. With Fabinho being used in the centre of defence, it means the captain will likely play in a holding midfield role, allowing the likes Georginio Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones to play further forward.
His ability to command his troops is something which will also be needed, especially after the very disappointing defeat in the Champions League during the week.
