Liverpool midfielder Fabinho started his first game for the club in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup yesterday.
The Brazilian has had to wait for his chance following his £40m move from Monaco in the summer, with the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson having been picked ahead of him in the holding midfield role.
Supporters on Twitter decided to rate the 24-year-old’s performance, and he received some mixed reviews:
Grew into the game, but you can see why he's being held back. Will come strong.

I now see why klopp hasn't introduced him to the senior squad but he is improving.— Benon.|?? (@Mystical_Ben) 26 September 2018

Nothing special, but this was a difficult full debut for sure

Decent but a little bit struggling with pace. Will definitely be a beast DM when he gets most accustomed with the league

Unsurprisingly, the Reds looked pretty disjointed after manager Jurgen Klopp decided to ring the changes ahead of the league encounter against Chelsea at the weekend.
It was, therefore, not the ideal environment for Fabinho to make his first start, but he handled things pretty well. He got caught on the ball a couple of times and made a few fouls, but he used the ball well and grew into the game as the night wore on.
The midfielder is likely to return to the bench for the trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
