Timo Werner likely regrets turning down Liverpool in order to join Chelsea, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian reporter claims that the German international has been made available for transfer, but he feels things could have been different if he had agreed to make the move to Anfield instead:
“In my opinion, Werner is a high-level player but he needs a different style of play to shine: because of this, I feel a move to Liverpool instead could have helped him fulfil his potential.”
While the majority of supporters on Twitter simply feel that Werner isn’t good enough, others would still be tempted to sign the striker even now:
He had his chance. Cheers.

He’d still be great at us, I’d take him for cheap

He made his own choice.

Serves him right, and we got a much better player in Jota at the end of the day, so thanks for choosing the money I guess🤷

No bcz he can’t deal with pressure. At Liverpool he would have had even more pressure I don’t think it would have worked

I’d take him in a heartbeat

No thanks. Don’t think Klopp has enough coaches to teach Werner how to stay onside as well as put the ball inside the goal posts not the other side of the goal posts.

At the moment, it appears a loan move back to former club RB Leipzig is the likeliest scenario, although it has been suggested that Juventus may also consider making a bid for him.
Romano claims the main reason why Liverpool failed to sign Werner was due to the Reds’ slow speed in negotiations, although many believe the fact that Chelsea were willing to pay the player £272,000 a week had something to do with it. Whatever the case maybe, it seems very unlikely that he will end up moving to Merseyside.
