Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been praising Fabinho ahead of today’s game against Manchester United.
The Brazilian did an admirable job playing as a centre-half against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, but Klopp’s insists he will use him in his favoured central midfield role:
‘It’s brilliant to have him as an option for both positions, but his natural position is in midfield. That he can play centre-half makes him an unbelievably valuable player for us.”
Supporters on Twitter believe Fabinho has been excellent over the past few months and should keep his place in the starting lineup:
Quickly becoming one of the most important players we have.. well done sir ?

I really don’t care who drops out but he should make our 11 every time. His intelligence is second to none

The 25-year-old will likely return to the heart of midfield versus United, with Virgil van Dijk available again after his suspension.
The dilemma for Jurgen Klopp will be where to fit Fabinho into the team. Jordan Henderson was excellent against Bayern, while Georginio Wijnaldum has been superb all season.
Naby Keita would be the likeliest player to be dropped, but such a midfield would likely be too defensive at Old Trafford.
The front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have struggled to score goals against United in the past, and Klopp will want to support them with creativity from midfield.
