Liverpool are close to finalising a deal for Derby County winger Kaide Gordon, according to multiple reports in the English media.
The Reds are believed to have beaten Manchester United to the signing of the 16-year-old, who Wayne Rooney gave a senior debut to against Birmingham last month. The Rams boss says he was impressed with the teenager‘s ability at such a young age:
“I brought Kaide up with the first team initially to train with us for a week to see how he reacted to it, and he was one of the best trainers. I kept him with us for a couple of weeks and he’s been training at the same level – if not to a better level – than a lot of the other [first-team] players.”
It seems as though Liverpool have secured the signature of one of England’s brightest young talents, and fans on Twitter are excited to see what the future holds for Gordon:
He is very special

The Premier League champions will reportedly pay up to £3m for the winger, including performance-related bonuses, which suggests they are optimistic he is good enough to make it at the top level.
Gordon is expected to be sent to the academy initially but there is every chance he’ll be loaned out to gain first-team experience very soon.
