“He Would Fit Perfectly…” Journalist Backs Liverpool To Challenge Arsenal For 63M Rated Winger

Liverpool should be looking to challenge the likes of Arsenal for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.

The German reporter believes that the France international would be an excellent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad, although he claimed that a deal before the transfer window closes is unlikely:

“I think he’s perfect for the Premier League. I always wondered why Liverpool didn’t buy him before, he would fit perfectly in this system, and I think we will see him there. But at the moment, it doesn’t look like it will be this summer.”

The Reds were mentioned as a potential destination for Diaby last year, but the player’s profile has risen since then, following a season where he scored 17 goals and contributed 14 assists for Leverkusen.

As a result, it had been reported that the Bundesliga side would be demanding as much as €75m (£63m) to sell the 23-year-old, which isn’t a figure that Liverpool would probably be willing to pay.

Rumours about a switch to Arsenal began to emerge over the weekend, but Falk’s assertion that Diaby won’t move until 2023 is likely to be accurate, with the player stating last month that he intends to remain at the BayArena,
