‘He’s Capable Of Anything’ Crooks Hails Liverpool Star Who Is A ‘Shoo-in’ For Player Of The Year

Garth Crooks says Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is in the form of his life after scoring a goal and providing an assist in the 4-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.

The BBC pundit can’t see past the 29-year-old for the PFA Player of the Year at the moment considering his recent outstanding performances. Writing in his ‘Team of the Week’ column, he said:

“There aren’t many players who are prepared to deliver a pass on the run without taking a touch first. However, Henderson is in such blistering form I think he’s capable of anything at the moment. I’ve said repeatedly in this column that the Liverpool captain is playing the football of his life and a shoo-in for Footballer of the Year.”

Henderson has been imperious no matter where he has been asked to play by manager Jurgen Klopp. Playing in a deeper role in the absence of Fabinho, the Reds talisman ensured that the back four were well protected, helping the team keep a number of important clean sheets.

Against the Saints, he was asked to play in a more advanced position, with Fabinho having returned to the starting eleven, and Liverpool’s no.14 needed no time to adapt, making a telling contribution in order to secure another three points for his team.
