Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz has given his biggest hint yet that he will consider leaving his current club when the transfer window reopens.
The 20-year-old has been linked with Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, among other clubs, and he has left the door open to a move to the Premier League:
“I’m ready to take a big step, and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad. Leverkusen are a great club, I feel good. I have always said that. But, of course, I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That’s my ambition.”
Supporters have been debating Havertz’s comments on Twitter, with some pleading for the German to make the move to Anfield, while others think he is out of the Reds’ price range:
He’s coming to Liverpool ??

I do not think Klopp will pay 100 miln Euros for him to be honest, unless he is a big game changer. Look at VVD and Alisson. What i have seen from his interview there are a lot of factors that LFC buy a player. Maybe price for Haverts goes down to 60-70 then he will be considered

@MelissaReddy_ already shut this down.
I believe her over a goal reporter. 0.1% chance Liverpool pay over 40m for him. Leverkusen want far far more.

His valuation must have dropped due to the pandemic. Imagine getting.
Havertz 70 mill + Werner 50 or even 40? ?— Daniel Patrick (@DannyMcMg) April 15, 2020
@LFC get him please

Havertz is said to be valued at around €130m (£113m) by Leverkusen and although that valuation could be reduced significantly due to the global health crisis’s impact on club finances, it could still prove to be too much for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
At this stage, it seems a switch to Merseyside is quite far off, but Havertz does appear to be open to such a move if the opportunity came up.
