“He’s Just A Machine” Carragher Compares Liverpool Ace To John Barnes

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Sadio Mane deserves all of the plaudits for his excellent form for the Reds this season. The former defender turned TV pundit has rated the Senegalese international highly since he arrived at the club back in 2016.

Comparing him to Anfield great John Barnes, Carragher believes that Mane is a world-class player that fans should look to cherish while he is at the top of his game:

“He’s the one who came in at the very start under Klopp, his first real big signing, and I think ever since then he’s just been getting better and better. He’s just a machine.  I always talk about the teams I played in never possibly had, say, a John Barnes, that world-class wide player. But I think Liverpool have got that now.

“I think that’s what’s making the difference why they are so good and look in a great position to hopefully go on and win the first Premier League. If you start comparing people like Sadio Mane to John Barnes then that shows how well he’s doing.”

Mane has eight goals in eleven appearances for Liverpool this season and has arguably moved above Mo Salah in his importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Despite barely having a break after returning from the African Cup of Nations in the summer, the 27-year-old has shown no signs of fatigue and has looked as sharp as ever in recent weeks.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that he continues his good form when the Reds face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
