Liverpool are weighing up a potential move for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, according to reports in the English media.
The Reds are looking at strengthening their options at the back with the expectation that Virgil van Dijk will be out for some time due to serious knee injury he sustained in the Merseyside derby.
Skriniar has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City in the past but he was closest to joining Tottenham before the transfer window closed last month. The Slovakian international has, though, fallen out of favour at the Nerazzurri under the management of Antonio Conte in the past year, and fans on Twitter are not convinced the defender would be the best solution:
Naaaahhh don’t do it seen him play a lot of times and he’s so overrated would flop in the Premiership

Dropped by Conte so he can't be good enough. Koulibaly or Diego Carlos otherwise just carry on with Rhys.

The 25-year-old’s form has certainly dipped alarmingly over the course of the last twelve months. For the same price, Liverpool could well get someone like RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano, although the Frenchman’s release clause only comes into effect next summer. Whether Liverpool are keen to bring in someone before then, we shall have to wait and see.
