Liverpool forward Mo Salah once again struggled to make an impact in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Saturday.
The Egyptian international has now gone three games without even hitting the target, let alone scoring, and fans on Twitter have been trying to diagnose what’s up with the club’s no.11:
He’s washed. Haven’t performed as he can since AFCON-devestation.

Should be dropped, said it for weeks. Give Elliott or Doak a chance

The team needs to play better..
Not Salah’s fault— Godshield (@Godshield5) January 22, 2023
Needs dropping. Give Elliott a go at RW with Nunez CF and Gakpo LW.

He is playing too wide on the right, doesn’t has the support from Trent to drift in close to the central areas where he is most effective.

Finished player sadly 🤦

We play him too wide. I know he’s historically done well there but he’s a different player now and benefits being more central.

He’s having an off season

Salah’s goal record this season is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. 17 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances is a decent return.
However, his work rate off the ball has been pretty lacklustre and his participation in build-up play has been effectively non-existent so there are questions to be asked about his performances.
As some supporters have mentioned, Salah has been asked to play too wide at times this campaign, and that definitely is a factor. You feel, though, there is more to it than that.
The team is not functioning well as a unit at the moment and Salah may be suffering because of that too but, at the end of the day, top talents should still stand out even in poor teams and he has looked well off his best in recent weeks.
