Hoddle Claims Liverpool Star Looked “Very Disgruntled And Unhappy” And Suggests Possible Rift With Klopp

BT Sport pundit Glenn Hoddle has claimed that the relationship between Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Mo Salah may be on the rocks.

The Egyptian was withdrawn midway through the second half of the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, and he was left on the bench for the subsequent fixture against Chelsea. Speaking before the game on Tuesday, Hoddle suggested that a potential rift could be growing between the pair:

“Salah [being left out of the team] is a surprise, to me. He looked very disgruntled and unhappy at the weekend when he come off. Something might have gone on there [with Klopp].”

Salah is rarely benched and the fact that Klopp didn’t mention his name after the City loss, when he listed the four players he felt did themselves justice with their performances at the Etihad, could be telling.

However, the forward was sent on in the second half at Stamford Bridge and, if he returns to the starting lineup when the Reds take on Arsenal on Sunday, nothing more will be made of it. It will be interesting to see Klopp’s team selection this weekend.
