Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk will not take part when the Netherlands face Estonia on Tuesday night. The Dutch FA have revealed that the country’s captain has withdrawn for personal reasons.
Whether that means he will be unavailable for this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, we shall have to wait and see, but many supporters on Twitter are hoping the centre-back is simply being rested:
Hope everything is alright

Liverpool pulling all of the players off international duty to keep them injury free, doubt very much Gomez and Henderson have injury’s either they’re just being protected!

Considering Joel Matip is a major doubt for the trip to Selhurst Park with a knee injury, the Reds will be hoping that van Dijk is ready to play next weekend.
The Dutchman has not missed a single minute in the Premier League or the Champions League this season, with manager Jurgen Klopp choosing only to rest him in the Carabao Cup.
Van Dijk has been part of a defence that has conceded just ten goals in 12 league games this campaign, and every supporter will be keeping their finger’s crossed that he’ll be named in the eleven to face the Eagles on Saturday.
