“Huge Signing…” Romano Delivers Update As Liverpool Back Away To Allow PL Rival To Seal 42M Deal

Wolves are poised to sign Liverpool target Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims the midfielder has “accepted” the proposal from the Midlands club, with the player now on the verge of completing a €50m (£42m) transfer to the Premier League:

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been linked with Nunes over the past few months but the fact that Wolves have managed to secure a deal for the player suggests interest from teams in the “Big Six” wasn’t as strong as first believed.

Losing out on the 23-year-old will still frustrate Reds fans, though, who are clamouring for the club to recruit a midfielder before the transfer window closes.

The majority of reliable journalists insist that Jurgen Klopp’s side will wait until next summer to strengthen their options in the middle of the park, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham said to be the number one target.
