“I Don’t Want To Comment…” Player Speaks Out Following Reports That Liverpool Have Made Contact With His Agents

SV Sandhausen goalkeeper Patrick Drewes has refused to comment on reports linking him with a summer move to Liverpool.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and there has been speculation that the Reds are eyeing him as a potential replacement for Adrian. When asked about a potential switch to Merseyside, Drewes said:

“I don’t want to comment on that.”

It is believed that Liverpool have already made contact with Drewes’ representatives but, as he can only sign a pre-contract agreement at the start of January, it is not surprising that he has kept quiet on the matter.

Drewes does have some pedigree. He was named Bundesliga 2’s keeper of the season by respected German magazine Kicker last season, even though he only kept six clean sheets in 33 matches.

If he does join the Reds, it is unlikely that he will get much game time, considering both Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher will be ahead of him in the pecking order.
