There had been question marks over the Egyptian international’s form but his performance on Saturday certainly silenced any critics.
Salah also had time to give his shirt to a fan after the game, with the boy overcome with emotion after getting his wish. Supporters on Twitter all praised the 26-year-old for his kind gesture:

The Egyptian’s goal in the 3-0 victory over the Saints means he has now scored three in seven matches this season. Remarkably, he is just three shy of 50 goals for the club, despite only having signed for the club fifteen months ago.
It’s not known whether Salah will start against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to rotate his squad with the club also facing the Blues in the league on Saturday evening.
