Liverpool have once again been linked with re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona. Reports in the Catalan media suggest that the Reds, Newcastle and Everton have all taken an interest in the Brazilian international.
However, none of the three clubs have, so far, decided to make a formal approach, even though Barca are believed to be desperate to get the 29-year-old off their books.
There has been a mixed reaction to the story among supporters on Twitter, with some seeing Coutinho as a short-term solution for AFCON, while many others have dismissed the speculation entirely:
I would take him on loan, or for a small fee like 15m all day long. If anyone can get him playing again it would be Klopp, and would be worth it for the freekicks alone.

Could be worth a loan with afcon and players missing due to injury/covid

I hope he joins a new club soon so I never have to hear him linked with us again

Honestly if he still has the capability of multiple positions I’d take him on loan

Newcastle is waiting.

This is the same story every 6 months, he’s turning 30 & we have no interest in him

Bring him back, Firmino is lonely

Not this again. We moved on a long time ago. 🙄

This rumour does tend to come back around every few months, but there has never been a credible source in the UK linking Coutinho with a return to Merseyside.
The Brazilian’s representatives are likely trying to drum up interest in their player and it is no secret that the midfielder would want to come back to Anfield. There is no real possibility of it happening though.
