Ian Wright Praises “Absolutely Fantastic” Liverpool Starlet Who Is A “Complete Player” Already

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has been singing the praises of Liverpool attacking midfielder Curtis Jones following his excellent start to the season.

Due to injuries in midfield, the 19-year-old has started 11 matches in all competitions but Wright feels the player has more than shown he is ready to play a significant role for the first team:

“The way they’ve nurtured him up to this point, I’m watching him doing backheel flicks, passing simply, taking his opportunity to get in the box, shooting when he has the opportunity. He just looks like a complete player already. Yes, Thiago’s going to come back in, can Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shift back in now with the way he plays? You look at him and you think yeah, he’s the future and he’s probably going to be there for many years, he’s absolutely fantastic. Unbelievable.”

Jones’ performances have been one of the highlights of the campaign so far and while, as Wright mentions, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago are closing in on a return to the starting lineup, the teenager will fight tooth and nail to keep his place in the eleven.

Despite still only being a teenager, the midfielder has shown maturity beyond his years and has already taken part in some huge games without looking out of place whatsoever. The sky really is the limit for him and it will be exciting to see how he continues to develop.
