Liverpool have joined the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United in the race to sign Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, according to reports in the UK.
The Reds are looking at potential replacements for Georginio Wijnaldum and, with Aouar said to be available for around €25m (£21m), he could be an economical solution.
However, supporters on Twitter are very much split over whether Aouar has the quality to make the grade at Anfield:

If we really want a more "creative" midfielder than we should have gone for Rodrigo de Paul.
We can definately do better than this.— kazoorice (@wearewinnin) July 16, 2021

As a replacement for naby I'm okay with but he shouldn't be our main midfield target

There are a few factors that we need to consider regarding Liverpool’s pursuit of Aouar. Reliable sources have claimed that the Frenchman has been on the Merseyside club’s radar for a while so there is a big chance that there is genuine interest in the player.
Even so, the player’s attitude is thought to be a concern, while Liverpool’s poor relationship with Lyon, following the Nabil Fekir transfer saga, may make any deal difficult to negotiate.
