Timo Werner did not get on the scoresheet for Chelsea on his Premier League debut last night but he did win the penalty to put the Blues 1-0 up against Brighton.
The German international used his pace to get in behind the Seagulls defence on a number of occasions during the 3-1 win, and Liverpool fans on Twitter were reflecting on what might have been if he had been signed by the Reds this summer instead:
I'm gutted to say the least

He would have scored so many more goals at Liverpool. Excellent player – just hope that he has a stinker at the weekend!

Werner looks likely to score a hatful for Chelsea based on his first outing and there is no doubt that he would have given Jurgen Klopp’s side another dimension if he had arrived at Anfield.
Even so, the Premier League champions are not short of firepower themselves, and with Mo Salah in red-hot form after his hat-trick against Leeds on Saturday, Liverpool will head to Stamford Bridge this weekend confident that they can rattle a Chelsea backline, which continues to leak goals.
