Ex-Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is in favour of the Reds re-signing Georginio Wijnaldum on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports over the weekend suggested that the Merseyside club are considering the Dutchman as a short-term option, before making their move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham next year. Enrique thinks Wijnaldum’s return on a temporary basis would make sense:
You will have him back? They are talking as a loan option. For me it will be great to be honest for 1 season if the club really are going to go all the way for Bellingham next season then I will understand this move it not is better to look at more permanent options https://t.co/6XhmYK9w97

Wijnaldum left on a free transfer last summer, but he had a disastrous first season with PSG. Things were going so bad that he was tipped to leave the club in January, with the player linked with a temporary switch to Arsenal.
Although he did end up staying in France for the remainder of the campaign, things didn’t get much better for him as he was subsequently voted the “Ligue One Flop of the Year” by a leading website.
Whether there are any legs in this story to re-sign Wijnaldum, we shall have to wait and see, but it is certainly a very surprising development.
