Tottenham wingback Emerson Royal has said that Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is the toughest opponent he has faced in the Premier League.

The Brazilian moved to Spurs from Barcelona for £26m at the start of the season, and he has come up against some tricky wingers, including the likes of Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, but Emerson said Mane has everything in his locker:

“He’s so fast, so quick, strong and skilful. It’s not often you get a player like that with so much strength, speed and skill.”

Mane did get a lot of criticism for his performances last season and, in fact, many were questioning whether the 30-year-old still had a long-term future at Anfield.

However, he has been back to his best this campaign, scoring 22 goals in all competitions. With just over a year left on his contract, Liverpool will be keen to tie down the Senegalese international to a new deal, but there are rumours that he could be on the move this summer.

Both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be interested in Mane so we shall see if either team makes an offer for the player.
