“It’s Possible He’ll Go To Liverpool…” Romano Drops New Update On Pursuit Of 25M Rated Bundesliga Star

Liverpool may be able to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer before the transfer window shuts, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Reports in the German media have suggested that Leipzig won’t sanction the Austrian’s sale so close to deadline day, despite the player having less than a year remaining on his contract. However, Romano feels there’s still a chance that the Reds can secure the player’s signature:

“Konrad Laimer is one of the players Liverpool are looking at but he’s not the only one, there are a lot of options. It’s possible he’ll go to Liverpool, but with German clubs it’s always difficult to negotiate at the end of the transfer window. Leipzig has said many times that they want to keep Konrad Laimer.”

“Konrad Laimer had a contract with Bayern Munich and he has the same agent as Sadio Mane, so the relationship with Bayern is great. The problem is that Leipzig don’t want to sell an important player at the end of the transfer window. So that’s going to be the same problem for Liverpool.

Laimer has been linked with a number of different teams this summer. In addition to Bayern, the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old.

It has been suggested that €30m (£25m) could be enough to snap up Laimer, but convincing RB Leipzig to sell up when there is little time to sign a replacement will likely be the main obstacle.

As Romano says, Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking at alternatives to the Bundesliga star but, at the moment, Laimer does seem the be the best option available.
