James Pearce Reveals Liverpool Star’s 25M Exit Is ‘Gathering Pace’ With One Club Leading The Battle

Crystal Palace are now favourites to sign Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, according to The Athletic‘s James Pearce.

The reliable journalist says that the Eagles are willing to spend £25m on the 20-year-old and they are prepared to include a buyback clause in the deal:

Palace are one of a number of teams said to be interested in Brewster, with the likes of Tottenham, Sheffield United, Aston Villa, Brighton, Burnley, Newcastle, Fulham, Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford also said to have been in contact about signing him.

It was a massive surprise when reports first emerged that the Reds were willing to offload the England Under 21 international on a permanent basis but the club are looking to balance the books after shelling out on Diogo Jota from Wolves last week.

The inclusion of a buyout clause, as well as a likely sell-on clause, will give Liverpool extra security if Brewster does go on to thrive for another club in the Premier League.
