James Pearce Reveals Massive Injury Boost With Two Liverpool Stars “Close To Returning To Full Training”

Liverpool pair Diogo Jota and Naby Keita are both expected to be back in first-team training very soon, according to The Athletic journalist James Pearce.

Jota has been pictured back in training, following a knee injury that has kept him out for almost two months, but there had been little to no information on Keita. Pearce says they are both nearing a return to full fitness:

“Reinforcements are on the way, with Diogo Jota and Naby Keita close to returning to full training. Liverpool are in desperate need of some fresh attacking impetus.”

While fans will be less enthused about Keita, considering his poor injury record which suggests it won’t be too long before he is back on the treatment table, the news about Jota will be welcomed.

The front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane has laboured in recent weeks, and Jota’s return should allow the Reds to rotate their forward line.

The Portuguese international was arguably the Reds’ best player in the opening months of the season and his absence from the team has been keenly felt.
