Liverpool representatives “met” with the father of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch “earlier this month” according to The Athletic reporter James Pearce.

The usually reliable journalist claims that the Dutchman is a target for the Reds but they are aware that he “won’t come cheap”, with Bayern wanting to make a “sizeable profit” on the £22.3m they paid for the player:

A lot will depend both on Gravenberch’s transfer stance and the competition for the 20-year-old’s signature. The midfielder is said to be unhappy about his lack of game time and, while Bayern value his talent, he could agitate for a move, leaving the Bundesliga champions with little choice but to sell.

However, reports suggest that both Arsenal and Manchester United have also held conversations with the player’s entourage, which could allow Bayern to hold out for a higher fee. We shall see how this transfer story unfolds in the coming weeks.
