Jota And Wijnaldum In, Firmino And Milner Out: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play Real Madrid

Liverpool’s win over Arsenal at the weekend is just what Jurgen Klopp’s men needed heading into the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid this evening.

There are unlikely to be many changes to the team that played at the Emirates, with the backline of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Nat Phillips, Ozan Kabak and Andy Robertson all expected to keep their places.

In midfield, Georginio Wijnaldum could be recalled to the starting eleven, with James Milner the likeliest to make way after playing the full 90 minutes against the Gunners just three days ago. Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara will take the other two positions in the middle of the park.

Up front, Diogo Jota’s second-half brace on Saturday should be enough to force himself into the lineup ahead of Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has only recently returned from a knee injury so starting two games in such a short period of time may be beyond him anyway. Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are expected to start either side of Jota.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Real Madrid:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Jota, Mane
