Journalist Claims French Teenage Sensation Has Turned Down ‘Very Good Offer’ From Liverpool

Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Ismael Gharbi has rejected a “very good offer” from Liverpool in order to sign his first professional contract with his current club, according to Fabrice Hawkins.

The French journalist claims that the teenager opted against a move to the Reds as staying at PSG was always his “priority”:

Gharbi was linked with both the Reds and Chelsea back in March, but it appears that Jurgen Klopp’s side were the ones closest to securing the 18-year-old’s signature this summer.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Gharbi in the future. The France Under 18 international has only signed a three-year deal and he could be a player that Liverpool look at again if he doesn’t get the game time he hopes for.

The midfielder has already made his professional debut, having made four appearances for PSG’s first team, but there is a lot of competition for places in the Ligue One side’s squad.
