Liverpool are interested in signing Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan, according to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard:
Grosse concurrence entre MilanAC et Leipzig pour le transfert de Mohamed Simakan. Les 2 clubs sont quasi d’accord avec Strasbourg et devraient rapidement formuler une offre.
A l’écoute, le joueur devra ensuite faire son choix.

AC Milan and RB Leipzig are said to be battling it out for the 20-year-old, with the Rossoneri thought to be close to agreeing a fee of €15m (£13.5m) plus add-ons for the Frenchman.
However, it appears the Reds may consider making a last-ditch attempt to sign Simakan. Manager Jurgen Klopp has played down talk that the Premier League champions will make a move for a new centre-back this month, citing financial limitations, but the Ligue One player would not exactly be an expensive purchase.
With three centre-halves currently out injured, many fans are hoping Liverpool will enter the market this month to address the issue. Simakan is young and would not simply be a short-term solution. He is talented, having also been linked with West Ham and Chelsea, but it remains to be seen whether the Reds will make any attempt to sign him.
