Journalist Reveals That Key Liverpool Target Could Be Signed For Only 28M

RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate could be sold for below his reported €40m (£34m) release clause, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are all thought to be interested in the Frenchman, but Falk says he has it on good authority that the centre-back is available for a lower amount:

If this is true then it may explain why Konate is being seriously looked at by so many clubs, including the Reds, despite the fact he has suffered from a series of injuries over the past couple of seasons.

With the player having huge potential and still being only 21 years of age, it would be a calculated gamble to spend €32.5m (£28m), but it could pay off handsomely if he can improve his fitness record.

Currently, Liverpool are believed to be looking at three possible options, including Konate, Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car and Villarreal’s Pau Torres so it remains to be seen who they will opt to go after.
