Journalist Says 70M Rated Bellingham Alternative “Wants To Leave” His Club As Liverpool Are Given Big Transfer Boost

Alexis Mac Allister playing against Liverpool for Brighton

Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister “wants to leave” Brighton at the end of the season, according to 90min.com and TEAMtalk reporter Graeme Bailey.

The Argentinian international only signed a new deal last year, and he could cost as much as £70m, but Bailey says the midfielder is angling for a move away from the south coast:

“Alexis Mac Allister wants to leave Brighton this summer. But he has a lot of hurdles to overcome before he can get out of the AMEX. Mac Allister signed a new long-term deal just before Argentina’s World Cup campaign, which saw him excel. And it is no real shock to learn that the interest in him is strong with many clubs around Europe keen. However, Brighton as it stands are in no mood to sell – given that he only signed his new deal earlier in the season.”

Considering the news that the Reds are unlikely to sign Jude Bellingham this summer, the fact that Mac Allister is keen on a transfer will be some comfort.

Of course, Jurgen Klopp’s side won’t be the only team pursuing the 24-year-old’s services. The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential suitors.

Unlike Bellingham’s £110m price tag, though, Mac Allister’s valuation is still significantly lower than that fee, so Liverpool may be seriously considering making a move for the player. We shall see how this transfer story develops over the coming weeks and months.
