Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Naby Keita won’t be available for tomorrow night’s game against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round.
The 25-year-old has already been out for the best part of three weeks with a muscular problem following his last appearance against Crystal Palace in the 7-0 win last month.
Klopp does, however, say that Keita will be back “soon” suggesting that he should be available when the Reds take on Manchester United in the top of the table clash on Sunday week.
It has been another difficult season for the Guinean international in terms of fitness issues. He missed three games after picking up the virus back in October and has also missed matches versus Atalanta, Brighton, Ajax and Fulham with minor niggles.
This latest injury is the longest absence of the season so far, though, and it will be hoped that, after this latest setback, Keita can begin to put a run of games together.
