Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar doesn’t believe that Liverpool will finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The Brazilian, who will face the Reds in the group stages of this season’s Champions League, was asked for his prediction at a PokerStars event for who will finish top of the table. He was quoted by the Express as saying:
“It’s very hard, it’s very difficult, but Manchester City will win it. Second will be United, third is Chelsea. Fourth is Tottenham.”
When pressed on Liverpool’s top four prospects, he confirmed:
“No Liverpool.”
Needless to say, fans on Twitter were not happy with the 26-year-old’s comments with some believing it will give the Reds added motivation in the upcoming Champions League clash at Anfield:
Champions league finalist and top 4 in a far more competitive league pretty sure he is just blowing smoke!! Ynwa

I doubt he’s even looked at the premier league results or table this season.

Others mocked Neymar for his tendency to dive:
Remember to put the undersoil heating on. The amount of time he spends rolling around on the pitch he might catch a chill.

The Brazilian international speaks very little English and was pressed by an Express reporter for a prediction at a Poker tournament. It is hardly a well thought through prediction.
The off-the-cuff remarks will, however, add extra spice to the fixture against PSG when they face the Reds in two weeks’ time.
