“Just Wait And See…” Bundesliga Star Speaks Out On His Future Amid Reports That Liverpool Have Spoken To His Father

Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has expressed his desire to play regular first-team football next season.

The Dutchman only moved to the Bundesliga champions last summer but he has made just one league start and, amid rumours linking him with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, the midfielder has hinted he won’t tolerate another year on the bench:

“Training and playing at the top level for a year is beautiful and instructive. Although playing, it is mainly training. That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again. I haven’t spoken to the club management yet, so just wait and see what happens. But it is clear that this role does not match my expectations.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Reds had held face-to-face talks with Gravenberch’s father, suggesting that Jurgen Klopp’s side may well push ahead with an offer for the 20-year-old this summer.

However, Bayern are not expected to offload the Netherlands international without a fight. The German club reportedly paid around £21m to snap him up from Ajax last year, and they will expect to make a sizeable profit from his sale, despite rarely playing him.

Liverpool are actively pursuing a number of midfield targets ahead of the summer transfer window, with journalist Fabrizio Romano claiming they will also hold talks with the entourage of Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister in the next couple of weeks.
